Mabel Irene Ross, age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Regent Care Center at Oakwell Farms in San Antonio, TX.

Mabel was born on December 2, 1926 in San Antonio to Herbert and Edith Perrin Elkins. She was a 1944 graduate of Edgewood High School in San Antonio. She married James Robert Ross on November 21, 1952 in Seguin, TX and he passed away on May 27, 1965. Mabel was employed in the cafeteria and as a bus driver at Lakeview Baptist School, and in the kitchen at San Antonio State Hospital. She was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald Ross and wife Charlene, and Steven Ross, all of San Antonio; Larry Ross and wife Brenda of Seguin, TX; Charles "Eddie" Ross and wife Beverly of Los Lunas, NM; David Ross and wife Jeanette of Comanche, TX; and daughter-in-law, Marta Ross of Brownsville, TX; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, John Ross; granddaughter, Kandee Ross Seelig; her parents; five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, March 13th, from 5-8 PM at Mission Park South. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Park South with James Ross officiating. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3.
