WETMORE – Mrs. Ruth Pinder Lapham, 89, Wetmore, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 1991, at a Seneca nursing home.
Mrs. Lapham had been a teacher and dental assistant in Wetmore.
She was born Nov. 9, 1901, near Purcell, the daughter of Robert and Harriet Pinder.
Mrs. Lapham was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Wetmore and the Fortnightly Club.
She was married to Augustus Philip Lapham May 23, 1928, in Topeka. He died Jan. 18, 1990.
A brother, Cecil Pinder, in California, survives.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Wetmore. Burial will be in Wetmore Cemetery. Mrs. Lapham will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holton Hospital in Holton.

Leslie B. Pinder, 28, a bridegroom of seven weeks, was instantly killed when he picked up a live wire at the William Sutter home two miles west of Effingham. Associated with his father, Robert Pinder, in the lumber business, he was doing remodeling work at the farm where the tragedy occured. His wife was the former Marie Armstrong.

LESLIE B. PINDER KILLED IN CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT. He was assisting in the construction of an addition to the Sutter home when for some reason he took hold of a ground wire and he was electrocuted. He was born May 23, 1906 at Havensville, Kansas. He had just recently married Miss Marie Armstrong. He is survived by his widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rob't Pinder, and two brothers, John and Cecil and a sister, Ruth Lapham.

John Sylvester Pinder, 56, 1415 S. Mullberry, died at his home at 4:50 p. m. Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Aug 17, at the first Presbyterian Church at Effingham. A Masonic graveside service will be held at Effingham cemetery. The Rev. Roger Greenslade will officiate at both services.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Stutz, Robert Caplinger, Francis Cormode Jr., Eugene Berry, Melvin Besancon, and Wilson Hawk.
Organ music at both services will be provided by Mrs. J. M. Kilgore, organist. In Lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the crippled children's fund of the Shrine hospital, c-o Harle P. Gover, 1432 S. Main.
He was born March 11, 1909, at Havensville, the son of Robert and Harriett Pinder. He lived at Effingham until seven years ago, when he moved to Ottawa and served as business office manager at Ransom Memorial hospital. He married Lola Cormode, May 28, 1931 at Effingham.
He was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Omega Pi, and a life member of Omicron chapter of Pi Omega Pi, and a life member of the Alumni Association of Kansas State Teachers, at Pittsburg. He was also a member of the American Association of Hospital Accountants, Mackey Lodge 48 A.F. 7 A.M., Effingham, Areme Chapter 231 O.E.S., Effingham, Tancred Commandery, 11 K.T., Ottawa, Abdulah Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Kansas City, Franklin County Shrine Club, Westminster Pesbyterian Church, and a permanent contributing member of the Crippled Children's Shrine Fund.
Survivors are: his widow of the home, Lola Cormode Pinder; two daughters, Mrs. Jolene Ried, Atchison RFD 3; Mrs. Carolyn Brown, Valley Falls; one brother, Cecil Pinder, Whittier, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Lapman, Wetmore; his mother, Mrs. Harriett Pinder, Ottawa, and three grandchildren.

Eleanor worked at Huron Telephone Company as an operator, Wilson Poultry Company, Chillicothe Business College in the cafeteria, Horton Garment Factory in Atchison as a bundle girl and Atchison Medicalodge in housekeeping. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Atchison, KS, enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch.
Eleanor married Billy Fultz on August 5, 1948 in Atchison, KS, he survives of the home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Ruby and Robert Huhn, Oklahoma City, OK, a sister; Dorothy Hill, Atchison, KS, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister; Francis Shoebrook.
