    Kent Jay Maw, 73, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was born on March 9, 1947 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Florence B. Poorte and Lawrence W. Maw.

    On August 27, 1970, Kent married the love of his life and eternal companion, Wanda Toponce. They were later sealed in the Ogden Temple on January 6, 1990. Together they raised three loving children, Charlene (Greg) Wibert, Louisa (Jared) Heninger, and Michael Maw.

    He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 23 years and served his country in the military (Army and Navy Seabees) for 24 years.

    Kent was generous, kind, hardworking, and had a great sense of humor. His family was his first priority and he would do anything for them. Kent wanted to make sure his children were happy and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed helping others.

    Kent loved to take vacations with his family to various places. Yellowstone and Disneyland were his favorites. He loved the mountains and outdoors.

    He enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was fixing a car, remodeling his house, or building things.

    Kent is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Wanda, Ogden, his three Children Charlene (Greg) Wibert, Roy; Louisa (Jared) Heninger, Washington Terrace; and Michael Maw, Ogden; 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: his brothers John, Neal, Carl, and Robert; his granddaughter Alexa; and great-granddaughter Karlee Rae.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
