Poss. died as the result of childbirth as a daughter Joane was buried 31st Dec 1601.
In St Peter's Church on the south wall of the nave is a small brass nameing Mary, wife of William Downing, and her father John Browne d.1591 and mother Silvester d.1593. Hope this helps. Jill.

William Downing and his wife Anne[no surname] had the following children.

Francis born 22nd March 1607 " 21st April 1608
A child named Anne was buried 16th Dec. 1609.
William Downing was buried in 1657 aged 92 and he was born in 1565 6th April. He wrote his Will in 1650 on his 85th birthday.
