Jethro D. Brown, 83, 1565 Farr West Drive, died Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 1962, at the Dee Hospital following a stroke. Mr. Brown was born March 18, 1879, in Farr West, a son of Thomas D. and Esther Wardle Brown. On Feb. 14, 1900, he was married to Emma Lee in the Salt Lake Temple. She died May 21, 1953. He was a lifelong resident of Farr West and had been a farmer and dairyman, retiring 20 years ago. He was a former director of the Weber Central Dairy and former director of the Federal Land Bank. He was a member of the Farr West Ward and had served a mission in the Southern States from 1900 to 1902. He had been a Chorister for 30 years and was in the presidency of the Seventies for 40 years. He was a member of the Farr West Stake High Priest Quorum. Surviving are three sons, Dr. Claudeous J. D. Brown, Bozeman, Mont.; Lee D. Brown, Farr West; four daughters, Mrs. Chester O. (Lila) Garlick, Mrs. Richard S. (Yvonne) Best, both of Farr West; Mrs. Abram E. (Monna) Maw, Plain City; Mrs. Odell J. (Helena) Watson, Las Vegas; 34 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Charles A. Groberg officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery.
