Father Bartholomew Maw, b. Abt 1777, Kirkbymoorside, , Yorkshire, England
d. Yes, date unknown Mother Mary Wilson, b. Abt 1778, Hovingham, , Yorkshire, England
d. Apr 1817, Top Close, Leeds, , Yorkshire, England
(Age 39 years) Marriage 29 Nov 1802 Slingsby, , Yorkshire, England
[12, 13, 14, 15] - IGI mentions that Williams mother is Mary Walkington.
I can however not find any marriage between Bartholomew Maw and her.
On the other hand there is a marriage between Bartholomew Maw and Mary Wilson on 29 Nov 1802 in Slingsby, Yorkshire, England.
Again, this only a few miles away from both Marton cum Moxby where William is born and also a few miles from Sherriff Hutton where he marries.
Another clue is that one of Williams sons is called Wilson Maw ...

Parish Records
Before civil registration in England began in 1837, key events in a person’s life were typically recorded by the church rather than the state. Parish records are the best source of vital record information in England before the nineteenth century and remain an important source thereafter.
Burial Records
Historically, burials usually took place within a few days of the deceased’s death. The registers can provide
•name
•abode/residence
•date of burial
•age
•who performed the ceremony
In 1812, George Rose’s Act called for preprinted registers to be used for separate baptism, marriage, and burial registers as a way of standardizing records. These standardized registers are included in this collection.
