Patrick James Duff, age 72, of Union passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 in Mercy Hospital. Patrick was born August 10, 1944 in St. Louis, MO. He is the son of the late Thomas Duff and his wife Catherine nee` Nestor. Patrick graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1962. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1962-1965. After his time in the Army he earned his Bachelor's Degree from University of Missouri in St. Louis in Criminal Justice. Patrick was united in marriage to Janet Siesener April 20,1968 at St. Jerome Church; the couple made their home in St. Louis. He was employed for 2 years with St. Louis City Police Department. Patrick spent 29 years with St. Louis County Police Department until his retirement in 1997. After retiring from a career in law enforcement he was employed at GC Services in O'Fallon, MO in Data Management. Patrick and Janet moved to Union in 2004. He was a member of the American Legion and the Immaculate Conception Church in Union, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Thomas Duff, and one brother, Michael Duff. Patrick Duff is survived by his wife Janet Duff of Union; two sons,Timothy Duff and Kevin Duff both of Union; two daughters, Teresa Duff (Edward Eads) of Arnold, MO, Megan Fritz (Alexander) of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren Riley and Kinley Eads; four sisters, Susan Spann (Gerry), Mary Kay Tuberty (Larry), Betty Pisoni (Tom) and Ellen Poniewaz (Stan); one brother Tom Duff; one sister-in-law, Joyce Duff; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Union, MO with Rev. Joe Post officiating. Burial will take place in National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks in St.
Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Backstoppers, Cardinal's Care or I.C. School.
