Born August 26, 1927 in Sandusky, he was the son of Alfred and Helen (Schmidt) Brain. Kenneth was an Army veteran and a lifelong member of Teamsters Local 407, having been employed with Maislin-Gateway Trucking for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and reading, especially Louis L'Amour novels, westerns, and Harry Potter books. He also enjoyed traveling, cookouts, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Deloris (Marcum) Brain of Mansfield; son, Dave Brain of Lakewood, Ohio; grandson, Matthew Brain of Mansfield; siblings, Helen Krasowski of Vermillion, Ohio, William (Janet) Brain of Brookpark, Ohio, Carol (Bob) Lorig of Cleveland, Gordon (Brenda) Brain of Medina, and Shirley (Robert) Cates of Brooklyn, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred Brain Jr. and Kaedon Brain.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Ron Biddle. An additional hour of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Monday, August 31 in Western Reserve National Cemetery.
