Jim Maw was born in Yakima, WA on September 13, 1937 and passed away while traveling in Israel on June 9, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kern; his sons, Steven, Brian and Randy; granddaughters, Annabel, Savannah, Erin and Brianna; brothers, Terry and Danny; nieces and nephews; in-laws; and many friends.Jim grew up in Granite Falls, WA returned to Granite Falls as a teacher and again as the School Superintendent. He retired as the Arlington School District Superintendent in 1996. In addition to Granite Falls and Arlington, WA Jim worked as a teacher or administrator in Steilacoom, Snohomish, Hunters and the ESD. Although Jim lived in several communities over the years, he has many lifetime friends in Granite Falls and always considered that his home.After retirement Jim pursued his hobbies, working on and showing his street rod, fishing, golf, puttering in his shop and traveling in the U.S. and abroad. His favorite activities were the annual Fourth of July celebration with his family and the annual family trip with his children and grandchildren. Jim was proud of his family and his passing will leave a deep hole in their hearts.The family will hold a private ceremony.Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
