      Will of Caroline Mitchell, nee Akester

      Be it known that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and Testament of Caroline Mitchell of Castlefor in the County of York, widow, deceased, who died on the 22nd day of November 1893 at Castleford aforesaid, was proved and registered in the Principal Probate Registry of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice, and that administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Emily Hamer (wife of Herbert Victor Hamer) of Rayner's Road, Brighouse in the said County, the daughter of the said deceased, one of the executors named in the Will. She having been first sworn faithfully to administer the same. Power being reserved of making the like Grant to Mark Turner Mitchell, the son of the said deceased, the other executor named in the said will.

      Gross value of personal estate £32 6s 6d

      This is the last will and testament of me Caroline Mitchell of Castleford in the County of York and I do hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions made by me. I appoint my son Mark Turner Mitchell of Castleford aforesaid, butcher, and my daughter Emily Hamer of Brighouse in the county of York, married woman, to be the executors of this my will. I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto and equally between my children living at my death as tenants in common and not as joint tenants. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of March one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three. Caroline Mitchell. Signed and declared by the said testatrix Caroline Mitchell as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
