  Sir Douglas Powell, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 July 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Douglas Powell, 1st Bt. and Juliet Bennett.2 He married Albinia Mariel Powell , daughter of William Folliott Powell , on 10 February 1904, |They were distant cousins.1 He died on 28 February 1932 at age 57.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England , with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He was Major.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).1 He fought in the First World War.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Powell, of Wimpole Street, London [U.K., 1897] on 15 December 1925.1
