Evelyn C. Maw died in Port Angeles of age-related causes. She was 92.
Mrs. Maw was born in Newport, Tenn., to Horace Jefferson and Inez Jane (Dukes) Rowe.
She married Eugene Walter Maw in Montesano on Feb. 25, 1937,. He died on Feb. 10, 2005.
After graduating from high school in Aberdeen in 1933, she lived in Aberdeen, Tacoma and Medford, Ore.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and working in her yard.
She was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Church of Port Angeles.
Survivors include daughter Jere Strang of Allyn; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Rudy Wahlsten of Port Angeles; son-in-law Andy Strang; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Evelyn C. Maw passed away of heart complications after a fall in her home at Park View Villas. She would have celebrated her 93rd birthday January 16.
She was born to Horace and Inez Rowe in Newport, Tennessee, in 1915. During the Depression they moved out west to Aberdeen to seek employment in the logging industry.
She met Eugene Maw while attending Weatherwax High School. After graduation, Evelyn married her high school sweetheart.
Linda and Jere came along in a few years, and as a family they moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1959. Eugene had found his niche in the plywood industry and they moved throughout the Northwest every few years to supervise the building of plywood mills.
Evelyn '97 Evie to her friends '97 enjoyed playing cards, knitting, sewing playing the organ, and telling a joke.
Eugene, her husband of 68 years died in 2005. She moved to Port Angeles in 2006 to be closer to her daughter, Linda Wahlsten.
She attended the Presbyterian Church and was always included in the many social events of the Wahlsten family. She grew to love her new home at Park View Villas and the many new friends she made.
Preceded in death were her husband, Eugene Maw, a brother, Howard Rowe, and a son-in-law, Andy Strang.
She will be missed by her family: Her daughters, Jere Strang of Allyn, Washington, and Linda Wahlsten of Port Angeles; granddaughters, Lisa Ress, Shelley Nice, Shari Bell and Jody Strang; and great-grandchildren including Donavan and Jordan Ress and Rebekah and Robbie Nice.
A memorial service is planned February 2 at Lakeland Village in Allyn, Washington.
