Notes - Hi Johan and Judy,
Just thought I'd drop you a line to say I'm another Maw descendant. My Granddad was Edward Fowers, son of Edward Fowers and Sarah Ann Maw. He was born in 1920 and died in 2000. I actually found your site by Googling his name. He was a Para in the Second World War (12th Yorks
Battn) and took part in D-Day at Ranville and the Battle of the Rhine.
He was a Derby man through and through, born there, lived there all his life and died in Spondon. He loved cricket and had a trial for Derbyshire just before the war broke out, but by the time he got back I suppose that door closed. He used to go to every match they played and I would often go with him and my Gran. An added bonus of their devotion to Derbyshire CCC was that I used to be allowed to play in the nets with the team - great stuff when you're 10!
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you
All the best
Rob Kilbourne
