Comments: Hello, last night I sent a message linked to Mary Browne(|12733)of Spexhall, Suffolk, England. Which I believe was sent, I also sent another email linked to William Downing (|12720)of Spexhall, Suffolk, England which I sent but I believe there were problems, but this evening I found your 'Contact Us' section and thought I would send another email about William Downing of Spexhall. If I remember correctly you had 3 children for William Downing and Alice Mawe but no names.

William Downing and his wife Anne[no surname] had the following children.
Anne bapt 25th April 1605
Symon " 13th Nov. 1606
Francis born 22nd March 1607 " 21st April 1608
A child named Anne was buried 16th Dec. 1609.
William Downing was buried in 1657 aged 92 and he was born in 1565 6th April. He wrote his Will in 1650 on his 85th birthday.

Obituary:
Towards the upper end of the Chancel, on the North Wall, stands an old mural monument, with this inscription:

"Here lyeth Simon Mawe, and Margery his wife, by whom he had five sons and six daughters. He was born at Epworth in Lincolnshire, brought up in Suffolk, bore the office of Steward of the Liberty of St. Ethelred 33 years; lived in credit to the age of 79 years, and died in peace the fifth of November, Anno Domini 1610.
"Hospes eram mundo per mundum semper eundo, Sic suprema Dies fit mihi summa quies."
