    Alfred S. Maw, 92, of 145 Hidden Valley Road, Walhalla, SC, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Lila Doyle Nursing Center, Seneca.
    The body is at Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, SC, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2007, from Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Central.
    The family is at their respective homes.

    Alfred S. Maw
    Walhalla


    Alfred S. Maw, 92, of 145 Hidden Valley Road, Walhalla, S.C., died Sunday, November 18, 2007, at Lila Doyle Nursing Center, Seneca.

    A native of Central, S.C., Mr. Maw was the son of the late John and Ida Kelly Maw. He was retired from Defore Mills and member of Charity Baptist Church, where he was an honorary Deacon. Mr. Maw survived three wives, Willie Mae Maw, Annie Maw and Bernice Maw. He especially enjoyed fishing for trout in Oconee's many rivers and streams.

    Mr. Maw is survived by son, Melvin Maw and wife, LeRay, of Central, S.C.; daughter, Janie Swords and husband, Wayne, of Liberty, S.C.; sisters, Frances Merck of Central, S.C., Aileen Medlin of Central, S.C. and Nellie Mae Hendricks of Easley, S.C.; grandsons, Andy Swords and wife Heather, and Jeff Maw and wife Katrina; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Emileigh Swords; and four stepchildren.

    In addition to his wives and parents, Mr. Maw was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007, from Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Central.

    The body is at Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, S.C., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007.

    Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 147 Hwy 107, Mountain Rest, SC, 29664.
