- Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - November 3, 2002. Deceased Name: Rhea Boyce Maw. Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002. Born in Granite, Utah on Sept. 28, 1910, Rhea was the second of six children born to Ira John Boyce and Pearl Elizabeth Mitchell. She graduated from LDS High School and LDS Business college.
On May 3, 1935, she married Earl L. Maw and began her life long career as homemaker and loving mother to eight children. She served many callings in the LDS church. She had a great talent for, and love of, music, art, gardening and handiwork. She will be remembered for her generous and compassionate nature, her nurturing spirit and gracious demeanor.
Survived by children Robert, John, Bruce, Carolyn (Morgan), Roger, Susan (Mackintosh), George and Christine (Calder); brother Alma Boyce; sisters Marjory Fullmer and Norma Rassmussen; 29 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband Earl Maw, brother John Boyce and sister Elizabeth Richins. Family and friends may call Sunday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service at 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple.
