  	The entry in the I of A transcripts reads: HOLGATE Ebba* Charles Mary Ann Born 17 Aug 1889 Bap 18 May 1897 CW Epworth I would think that the parents gave the clerk the dates of birth. As Charles and Mary Ann had 4 children christened on the 18 May 1897 and Ebba was the oldest (9). They probably had the birth date wrong as Alan has a copy of the BC. *It would seem that the transcriber got her name right (from the register) but the writer of the BC also had it in error?
