Shields "Loving Mother" Lois McDorman Shields, age 88, passed away January 18, 2004 in Chula Vista, California. Born January 19, 1915 in Glasscock County, Texas, daughter of William and Willie McDorman. Married Willie M. Shields; he preceded her in death April 24, 1978. Lois spent most of her life living in Utah. She and Bill raised their family in West Jordan. After Bill retired, they lived in Phoenix until Bill's death. Lois moved to Kearns, Utah where she attended Trinity United Methodist Church. She was involved working to provide homeless shelters with food, clothing, blankets and quilts. She was an excellent seamstress who often gave homemade gifts to her family and friends. After leaving Kearns, she moved to Pahrump, Nevada and in the fall of 2000 moved to LaVerkin, Utah to live with her daughter, Karen. She spent the past year living in Chula Vista, California with her daughter, Lois, who with the help of her husband, Dave, cared for her up until the moment she took her last breath. Lois leaves behind her family, who loves her dearly, children: Karen Buckley, Salt Lake City; Jim (Shirley), May, ID; John (Kris), Pahrump, NV; Lois (Dave), Chula Vista, CA; Carolyn (Ben) McAllister, Taylorsville; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and two on the way. Preceded in death by husband; son, Milton Dwayne; daughter, Ethel Laraine. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 4290 W. 5415 S. A viewing will be held Thurs., 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
